This position is accountable for directing Manufacturing Engineering, Methods, CAD, Tool Design, to maintain cost effective Routers and Methods of manufacture and to monitor and implement improvements to our production needs, tooling and process equipment.

• Ensure continued departmental effectiveness through the selection, development, training and motivation of a competent staff.
• Investigate and resolve manufacturing problems through the direction and deployment of manufacturing engineering in order to optimize product performance while minimizing cost.
• Conduct studies related to design, production methods and equipment in order to recommend improvements which will optimize product performance while minimizing cost.
• Monitor and report on cost reductions which are a result of method improvements in order to improve profit margins.
• Encourage awareness and knowledge of safety among subordinates in an effort to minimize accident occurrence and resultant lost time, and maintain departmental discipline to ensure reduced absentee goals are met.
Basic Qualifications • Requires a B.S.M.E. degree or equivalent experience, coupled with ten years of in-depth manufacturing knowledge of tools, dies and machinery used in the metal working industry.
• Strong supervisory background with emphasis on working through subordinates in assuring that end results are accomplished on a timely basis.
• Position requires good computer skills with expertise in Dbase, Excel, MS Word and spreadsheet/chart related software along with advance knowledge of S.P.C
• Experience working in a high volume business is a must
